Drea d'Nur:

Loved a broken man

Raised by broken men

Who hit the floor and rose again

Who told the Devil and his friends

I got your generals and their kin

Held captive by the bend

And with his finger on the pin

Said it's either me or it's them

Yeah it's either me or it's them

And begged the Lord please let me in x2

Maimouna Youssef:

Despicable me, invincible seed

Born naked as can be, expect me to believe

In my own inferiority, when I was born holy

Nah, you don't really know what you think you know homie

Like my daddy told me,

sometimes you gotta ride the pale horse through hell

for a heavenly cause

Hold that while I slip through these bars

Go and sit with the stars,

Where the scripture written in position to Mars

Al hamdillah

Rebel without a pause

I've walked too long in the dark, for me to ever be lost

Dark matter, black is where the source is

Where the scorch is, only when you embrace it can you morph it

F--k your religious guilt, look at all the blood you spilt

Hand soiled in hypocrisy, if anything you teaching me how not to be

I'm the salt of the earth, you aristocracy

Brother Ali:

La illaha ill Allah

Ya Hafeedh

I tried talk to GOD in the words that we were taught

Strived to wrap my tongue around the scripture we were brought

Struggled just to mumble in the Madrasa and the mosque

My eyes said it all with the water that poured out when I was caught

The dead sea I cried brought text I read to life

The eye of my heart was baptized in light

In the middle of the night curled up like a newborn

Remembering the womb was warm but you’ve been warned

The true walking sign of GOD in human form

Tip toeing over fire while being fired on

Blood, sweat, semen and tears all on my garment

Tryna sing a sonet that’s pure enough to wash it

Tap out a tempo on a rock with my staff

To bring the water forth and help me conquer my past

When the sea split we dipped to freedom at last

Let my inner pharaoh just drown in the crash
